A man, whose identity has not yet been officially released, was executed with more than ten gunshots early Saturday morning (27) in the Compensa neighborhood of western Manaus.
Minutes before his death, the victim recorded a video that began circulating on social media. In the footage, he levels accusations against two men he identifies as alleged members of Rocam (a specialized Military Police unit).
One is named as Erico da Silva Serra, while the other is referred to only by the nickname "Barata"; they are accused of stealing drugs and supplying them to drug dens in Manaus.
So far, there has been no official confirmation of the victim's allegations, nor any statement from the authorities or the individuals named in the video.
Following the execution, the man was found with his hands tied behind his back; his body lay next to a sign bearing a message attributed to a so-called "crime tribunal."
The text claims the man was dealing drugs and other goods allegedly stolen and distributed by military police officers, and issues a warning to others involved in such activities.
The circumstances of the crime will be investigated by the Civil Police, who are expected to look into both the identity of the perpetrators and the content of the statements made in the video. No arrests have been made so far.
