Allegedly negligent, a junior high school student in Muara Enim, namely RF (14), a resident of Kepur Village, Muara Enim District, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra almost died after being hit by the Babaranjang Train (KA BBR).
The incident occurred at the KM 382+3 railway crossing in Kepur Village, Muara Enim District, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra Province, Sunday (8/12/2024) at around 05.30 WIB.
From the information that was successfully gathered, the incident began when the victim said goodbye to leave the house at around 05.10 WIB to look after the garden in Kepur Village.
At around 06.00 WIB, suddenly one of the residents accidentally saw the victim stuck in the Babaranjang train carriage with the number Lambung KA 3107 which had stopped.
Residents who recognized the victim immediately contacted the victim's family to inform them of the victim's condition.
After that, the victim's family immediately went to the location and evacuated the victim by taking him to the hospital for treatment.
Head of Public Relations of the Muara Enim Police, AKP RTM Situmorang, confirmed that there was a traffic accident where the BBR train hit a pedestrian until the victim suffered serious injuries.
The BBR train that hit the victim came from behind, namely from the direction of Palembang towards Tanjung Enim and when at the scene of the incident, it is suspected that the victim who was walking along the railroad tracks did not realize that there was a BBR train, resulting in the victim getting stuck in the train carriage which resulted in the victim's right hand being severed, there were cracks in the legs and wounds on the head and then the victim was taken to the dr HM Rabain Muara Enim Regional Hospital.
