A young man died in a train accident on Wednesday afternoon (10), in the municipality of Pirapemas, 196 km from São Luís. According to preliminary accounts from witnesses, the victim was struck by a train. The young man's name was not released, only that he was nicknamed Baixinho.
Local authorities were called and responded to the scene for standard procedures. The scene was cordoned off for technical experts, who began work to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
The Civil Police took over the investigation to determine the cause of the accident. The company responsible for the railway network was notified.
