The accident that resulted in the deaths of two young people in Rolim de Moura (RO) a week ago was recorded by one of the passengers. The video shows that the vehicle was missing its original seats and that the driver was sitting in a beach chair while driving. The footage also reveals that the speedometer reached 140 km/h (approx. 87 mph) moments before the collision with a tree.
The car belongs to a car dealership and had been picked up by one of the people involved in the accident to be polished. It hit the curb and then a tree.
There were five people inside the vehicle. A 16-year-old teenager and a 20-year-old young man died. The other passengers were hospitalized in critical condition.
In the video, you can hear the car going over a speed bump moments before the accident. The passengers laugh and make comments, and the driver continues accelerating. At the second speed bump, he loses control of the steering. The young men can be heard screaming that the car is going to crash.
Upon impact, three of the occupants were thrown from the vehicle. The video, filmed by the front-seat passenger, shows that none of them were wearing seatbelts.
According to the police report, the car was traveling at a high speed and zigzagging before the collision. The vehicle was destroyed by the impact. Bottles of alcohol were found inside the car
