A police pursuit that began Saturday morning in north St. Louis County ended with a serious crash in St. Louis City near North Broadway and East Taylor Avenue, police say.
Two people involved in the crash were hurt, and one suffered critical injuries.
Around 10:45 a.m., St. Louis County officers spotted a vehicle linked to a shooting and home invasion reported earlier in the morning on Lorna Lane. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the driver sped off from the scene, prompting a police pursuit.
The chase end shortly after the suspect vehicle crossed the St. Louis city-county line and crashed. Both individuals inside the vehicle were taken to a hospital with injuries.
No officers were hurt in either the city or county during the pursuit.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s Force Investigative Unit and Accident Reconstruction investigators will investigate the crash. St. Louis County Police will handle the criminal investigation into the original shooting and home invasion leading up to the pursuit.
It’s unclear if criminal charges may come from the crash or anything leading up to it at this time
