“You know me, I’m sorry, man. I’m sorry, I have a young child, a brother.” This was the plea of a man shot after attempting to rob a small market on Wednesday morning (22), in Barueri. The suspect, who was a frequent customer of the establishment, entered the premises hooded at around 7:40 am and announced the robbery at gunpoint.
Even with the disguise and the fact that he had recently shaved his beard, the owner recognized the robber. The shopkeeper handed over R$ 120, but noticed that the criminal's weapon malfunctioned during the robbery.
In self-defense, the market owner used a registered weapon and fired shots at the man. The situation was recorded by a security camera in the store.
Hit while trying to escape, the suspect crawled along the sidewalk and began a series of apologies to the shopkeeper. Neighbors, attracted by the sound of the gunshots, recorded on video the moment when the individual begged for forgiveness.
The Military Police arrived quickly at the address. Initially, the man refused medical assistance for fear of being arrested, but officers took him into custody and transported him to a local hospital. He underwent surgery and remains in custody.
