The four perpetrators of a brutal beating of a 63-year-old man in the parking lot of a shopping center in Laredo (Cantabria) have been arrested by the Civil Guard, which is investigating the events.
The four detainees, three men and one woman, two of them 28 years old, one 52 and another 56, have been located in Laredo and in the nearby town of Cicero, sources from the Civil Guard have informed EFE.
The beating has gone viral on social networks through the dissemination of a video recorded by a witness that shows how several men beat and kick the man, who is lying on the ground in a pool of blood.
The Civil Guard has clarified that the victim of the attack was not a security guard as was first reported on social networks. The man who received the beating, for "personal reasons", is admitted to the Hospital de Valdecilla de Santander, "with a reserved prognosis".
The events took place early on Sunday afternoon and hours later the perpetrators were arrested thanks to the images that have circulated on social networks.
"In the middle of Laredo street and in broad daylight. Brutal beating of a man: "Call the Civil Guard". The attackers have already been arrested and the Civil Guard is already investigating the facts," the Unified Association reported in a tweet. of Civil Guards (AUGC).
