Leonardo Sebastián Figueroa, a bus driver on line 506, was murdered yesterday evening in the Buenos Aires town of Glew, in the district of Almirante Brown. The victim was attacked from behind while he was on his journey by a passenger who stabbed him twice in the abdomen.

The attacker, on the other hand, was not unknown to the victim: he was identified as Calixto de Jesús Ojeda, 57 years old, from Avellaneda, registered as a freighter with the AFIP. According to testimonies that are part of the case, his wife, a 30-year-old woman, had allegedly had an affair with Figueroa some time ago.

The attacker, whose actions were filmed by the security camera installed inside the bus, was arrested a few blocks from the crime scene by the Buenos Aires Police, thanks to the testimony of witnesses to the incident.

Police sources told Infobae that Figueroa, 43, was killed while driving his unit, number 101, on Gumercindo Pereyra Street, between Renato Presa and Sargento Eufrasio Rojas. After the incident, Figueroa was rushed to the Cecilia Grierson hospital, in the town of Guernica, where the doctors on duty confirmed his death.

The video at the top of this note shows that it was 8:34 p.m. when Ojeda approached the driver's cabin of the unit, where Figueroa was. Dressed in a red jacket, a black cap and a white mask covering his face, the murderer seemed to ask the driver a question. A few seconds later, and without saying a word, he pulled a knife from among his belongings, stabbed the bus driver twice in the right side of his torso and ran off the bus.

Shocked and incredulous by the attack, the victim closed the front door of the unit and looked at her bloody hands, as if trying to find an explanation.

Prosecutor Juan Baloira, of the Decentralized UFI N°3 of Almirante Brown, charged the attacker with the crime of homicide and is expected to take a statement from him today.
