The heinous crime took place in the Juan XXlll neighborhood. Apparently, the two elderly women were talking on the terrace of a home when they were surprised by a hitman who shot and killed them.
Crime in the department of Magdalena has reached one of its most vicious peaks this Saturday afternoon, after a hitman killed two elderly women in Fundación, one of the municipalities hardest hit by the war waged by criminal gangs such as the Clan del Golfo and Los Primos for control of illegal activities such as micro-trafficking and extortion.
According to preliminary reports, around 2:00 p.m., the elderly women, identified as Mabel Cantillo and Barcinilla, were talking on the terrace of a home in the Juan XXlll neighborhood when they were surprised by a man who shot them without saying a word and then fled.
Shocked by what happened, as this time the victims of the hitman in a town at war were two elderly women, who had no criminal records, much less any medical conditions, neighbors proceeded to assist them and take them to San Rafael Hospital, where doctors confirmed their deaths minutes later.
Members of the Magdalena Police arrived at the scene and began investigations to find those responsible for this latest bloodbath, which once again fills the population with fear, as no one is immune from being a victim of murderous bullets in a municipality controlled by criminal gangs.
