It didn't take long for police to uncover the murder of Deding Darma Firdaus, 27, on the side of the Bromo highway in Krajan Hamlet, Sukapura Village/District, Probolinggo Regency, on Tuesday morning (September 29th).
In less than 24 hours, the perpetrator was arrested.
The perpetrator was identified as Muslim, 54, from Krajan Hamlet, Resongo Village, Kuripan District, Probolinggo Regency.
Probolinggo Police Public Relations Head, First Inspector Merdhania Pravita Shanty, explained that Muslim was arrested following a police investigation.
From witness statements and a number of pieces of evidence, the suspect was identified as Muslim.
The Probolinggo Police Criminal Investigation Unit's Operational Unit and the Sukapura Sector Police Criminal Investigation Unit then conducted a search for Muslim.
Upon receiving information that Muslim was in Resongo Village, Kuripan District, the Probolinggo Police Criminal Investigation Unit, along with members of the Sukapura Sector Police Criminal Investigation Unit, mobilized.
Muslim was eventually apprehended. "At that time, the perpetrator was filling up with gasoline near his house in Bades Hamlet, Resongo Village, Kuripan District," explained Pravita.
Muslim was then taken to the Sector Police Headquarters for further investigation.
Police are still investigating the motive for the stabbing that led to the victim's death. They are also hunting for another perpetrator, whose identity has been established.
