A 28-Year-Old Man Was Beaten To Death With A Metal Pipe

A 28-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death with an iron pipe in Sagar’s Makronia area on Sunday, with CCTV footage showing the attacker repeatedly striking the victim on the head.

The footage shows the suspect hitting the man 14 times in about 16 seconds. The attack caused panic among people in the area, and some bystanders tried to intervene.

Another youth eventually caught hold of the attacker and pulled him away from the victim. The suspect then fled the spot.

Police reached the scene after being alerted and rushed the critically injured man to hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

The deceased was identified as Ankit Patel, 28, a resident of Manas Nagar and son of Ramlal Patel.

Sagar SP Anurag Sujania said the victim and the suspect had an old dispute. “The matter is being investigated,” he said.

Police have taken the CCTV footage into evidence and launched a search for the suspect.
