A Drunk Driver Crushed A Man Loading Meat Into The Trunk Between Cars

The former councilor of Codó, Manoel das Graças de Oliveira Ximenes, died after being crushed by a runaway vehicle this Saturday morning (23), on a street in the municipality, located 290 km from São Luís. The accident was recorded by cameras security (See the video above).


According to the Civil Police of Maranhão (PC-MA), the driver involved was identified as Emílio Moraes, who is also a former councilor of Codó. In the images, the victim appears behind a car, delivering pork to a butcher's shop at around 5am, when he is hit by the car.


With the impact, Manoel das Graças was crushed between the two vehicles. According to the Civil Police, it is suspected that the driver was drunk at the time of the accident.


A team from the Mobile Urgency and Emergency Service (SAMU) was called and even tried to help Manoel das Graças, who could not resist his injuries and died.


The Maranhão Military Police (PM-MA) was called and Emílio Moraes was taken to the police station. He was arrested in the act and is in the custody of the 4th Regional Police Station of Codó.


Manoel das Graças de Oliveira Ximenes was a councilor in Codó in the 90s. He was well known in the city and also owned a company specializing in the breeding and sale of pigs.
