A 26 Year Old Dude Who Can't Swim Drowned In A Pond
In a tragic turn of events, a young man drowned in a farm pond in Karnataka's Kolar on Wednesday. The man has been identified as 26-year-old Gautam Gowda.
Gowda's sibling was accompanying him at the time of the incident and the entire sequence of events was captured on camera.
Gowda, who was visiting his father's hometown Nagnala village near Vemgal, had ventured into the water despite not being proficient at swimming.
A video of the incident, captured by his sibling, showed Gowda jumping into the pond and trying to swim. He is seen flailing around and managing to stay afloat for about half-a-minute.
However, he soon started to find it hard to swim.
As a few more seconds passed, a young boy, who was swimming in the same pond with the help of an inflated tube approached Gowda and extended his arm in order to save him but he could not quite grab Gowda's arm.
Within the next minute or so, Gowda's strength gradually gave up and he drowned.
The incident only came to light on Friday, two days after it took place
