Man Brutally Attacked With Sword By Minor On Busy Mumbai Road, Dies

A man died after he was brutally attacked with a sword by a minor boy in Mumbai's Shivaji Nagar area. A video of the gory incident has gone viral on social media, showing the victim being repeatedly attacked with the sword as he lay in a pool of blood.

Despite the presence of numerous bystanders, no one intervened, the footage shows. The deceased has been identified as Ahmed Pathan.

A case has been registered against five people. So far, four accused have been arrested, including a woman.

The incident happened on August 8. Pathan was standing on a road in Shivaji Nagar when 3–4 people, including the minor boy, waylaid him.

The boy then started attacking Pathan furiously with the sword and also threatened the passersby if they came to help him. The boy continued to attack Pathan even as he lay motionless on the ground.

Police said the deceased and the accused knew each other, and they had a heated argument and a fight around two weeks ago. Pathan had criminal cases registered against him, police said.
