The attack in a commercial area left nine people dead and four injured.
The massacre occurred last night in the stores selling cajeta and other items located in the “cloverleaf” of Apaseos.
Among the victims are a paramedic and two firefighters from Apaseo who were off-duty.
Of the victims, eight died at the scene of the attack and one more in the hospital, while being treated.
The multiple crime happened minutes after 9:30 last night, witnesses reported to the authorities that there had been a shooting that left several people dead in the stores located in the area known as the “cloverleaf” of Apaseos.
Paramedics from Apaseo el Grande went to the scene, upon arrival they checked the victims and found that eight men were no longer alive, another five were taken to a hospital after receiving first aid and shortly after it was announced that one died at that location.
The area of the massacre was cordoned off by municipal police, who notified the Public Prosecutor's Office.
According to initial investigations, criminals arrived at the area of the candy store and a store where they sold alcoholic beverages, and shot at customers.
The murderers escaped in several vehicles, and despite the fact that there were operations to locate them, they were unsuccessful.
At least five of the victims were left outside the store, another three inside, all with visible gunshot wounds.
Five forensic agents worked in the area and located more than 50 spent cartridges of various calibers.
Relatives of the victims arrived at the scene, some, desperate, tried to approach but were removed by the authorities.
Through social networks, Celaya firefighters expressed their sorrow for the murders, and expressed their condolences to the relatives of the victims, two of them identified as Alejandro Ortega and Ulises Ramírez. For its part, the Guanajuato State Emergency System (SUEG) confirmed the identity of another of the deceased persons: Ricardo Eduardo López Ortega, who was a transfer paramedic.
