54-Year-old Athlete Died Of A Heart Attack At The Stadium. India

Athlete Varinder Singh, 54, suffered a fatal heart attack while speaking on the phone at Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana on Wednesday. A disturbing video shows Singh collapsing mid-conversation as others nearby rush to assist. Singh had traveled from Jalandhar to compete in the Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan Season 3, a state-wide sports event featuring athletics, baseball, kickboxing, and lawn tennis, held across Punjab’s five districts, including Ludhiana. 

Singh had completed his long jump event earlier in the day and was watching other athletes when he suddenly collapsed around 5:30 pm. The competition began on Monday and will continue until November 9 at multiple venues, including the Guru Nanak Stadium.
