A chilling crime unfolded on the night of Sunday, December 7th, in the quiet village of Bellavista, Coveñas, Sucre. It all began with a simple game of pool – a game lost in the village’s only pool hall – that tragically escalated into a horrific event.
This was the harrowing account shared with EL HERALDO by residents of Bellavista, who witnessed the brutal machete attack that culminated in Jhony Feria Julio’s decapitation of Carlos Andrés Pantoja Agámez, after a stabbing inside the billiard hall.
It was 10:00 on Sunday, December 7th, when a wave of horror swept through the residents of Bellavista. Just moments earlier, word had spread of a heated argument erupting inside the billiard hall in the Tres Esquinas neighborhood – all because a man had lost a game of billiards.
Within moments, they realized the argument had escalated into a brutal attack, culminating in a knife wound that claimed his life.
And just when they thought the horror had reached its end, the unthinkable happened: the body was brutally decapitated in the middle of the street with five savage machete blows.
On Monday, December 8th, a somber report emerged from the National Police Command in Sucre: a 25-year-old man, identified as Jhony Feria Julio, was apprehended in the act of murder. He now faces the full weight of justice, with the Attorney General’s Office set to bring him to trial for the crime of homicide.
