A female police officer was thrown into the path of the Metrobús at the Canal de San Juan station on Line 2, in Iztapalapa by a homeless individual. According to initial reports, the aggressor has already been arrested and is being investigated for the crime of attempted femicide, according to authorities.
“For this incident, the subject was arrested and presented to the public ministry, where an investigation was initiated for the crime of attempted femicide,” reads the statement published by X's Metrobús account.
The attack occurred during the morning of November 30 inside the station, when the man was sitting on the bench in front of the police officer who was standing making a phone call on the boarding and exiting platform of the Metrobús.
In the video of just 25 seconds captured by security cameras, it is observed how the homeless man begins to shout at the policewoman, she responds to calm him down or defend herself and then the subject pushes her into the path of the convoy.
The man then runs away from the station and three women who witnessed what happened shout for help from the police. Seconds later, the driver of the unit is apparently seen running away to catch up with the aggressor.
Metrobús is attentive to the evolution of the health of an officer who was injured in an incident at the Canal de San Juan station on Line 2 in Iztapalapa.
The emergency services quickly arrived and transferred the police officer to the Álvaro Obregón hospital (Roma Norte) with mild head trauma. It is worth mentioning that the officer has already been discharged because the injuries caused no longer put her safety at risk. Likewise, Metrobús remains attentive to the evolution of the health of the station officer.
