The incident occurred at Christ-Mitots School in Ikorodu, where Mrs. Nwadigo was seen slapping and shouting at the child as he struggled to write the numeral “6.”

The video sparked public outrage, prompting immediate action from the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA).

In a statement, the Lagos DSVA said, “We thank everyone who brought the disturbing incident of a teacher physically abusing a 3-year-old boy to our attention.

We are pleased to announce that the teacher has been arrested by Owutu FSU, and an investigation is underway. Educational institutions should be safe, nurturing spaces for all children under their care.

The State Government is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of every child by enforcing strict regulations, holding offenders accountable, and collaborating with stakeholders to promote a zero-tolerance policy for abuse in any form.”
