On the evening of last Thursday (30), a truck driver died at a gas station on the side of the BR-407 highway, in the Massaroca district, rural area of Juazeiro, Bahia. According to preliminary information obtained by Portal Spy, the victim had become ill during a nap and died while still sitting, possibly due to a heart attack.
A colleague recorded images of the incident and tried to contact acquaintances of the deceased driver through social media. In the video, he laments the way truck drivers are treated and denounces the alleged lack of assistance at the scene, stating that the professional class is often underestimated. He also reports that, more than an hour after the incident, neither the police nor medical assistance had arrived at the scene.
So far, the driver's identity has not been officially released, but unofficial information indicates that the family is already arranging for the release of the body with the Juazeiro Technical Police Department (DPT). The cause of death was initially identified as natural death.
The report contacted the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and the Civil Police to obtain clarification on the case, but, until the closing of this article, there was no response.
