Fifty-year-old Jitu Munda learned that his late sister had 20,000 rupees (about $300) in her account, so he went to the bank to claim the inheritance, but was refused.

Bank employees demanded either the owner's presence in person or a death certificate. Jitu, lacking the necessary paperwork, chose the first option: he went to the cemetery and dug up his sister's body.

He then brought the body to the bank and presented it to the tellers as "proof."
