This was caused by the DJ vehicle coming into contact with a wire and was also connected to the electrical wires as people joined the procession.
The electric shock caused people to fall unconscious, according to reports from the scene. A person’s clothes caught fire when they came into contact with the electrical wire in one particularly alarming moment. That set off a panic when others got out of the vehicle to help those affected.
A major tragedy was narrowly avoided as emergency assistance was provided to the injured. Two people were found unconscious at the spot following the electric shock. They were then transported for medical treatment and the critically injured were taken to a hospital in Mysuru.
The exact circumstances that led to the electric wire coming into contact with the vehicle are still not understood. The police are going to review the site and determine how the procession vehicle came into contact with the overhead electrical line. After the incident, Kodagu District Superintendent of Police R.N. Bindumani and other police officials visited the spot.
