An 18-year-old medical technologist lost her life tragically this morning in an accident along the Kiltearn Public Road in Corentyne, Berbice.
The young woman, Bibi Aleah Ali, was the passenger in the car that was being driven by her 24-year-old husband, Niraz Sukdeo.
The Police said the car was proceeding along the road at a fast rate just after 2 o’ clock this morning, when the driver lost control, and collided with a Crane that was parked on the parapet.
As a result of the impact, the 18-year-old woman was flung from the vehicle into a nearby canal, while the husband was left with several injuries in an unconscious state.
The wife suffered multiple injuries and died on the spot. The 24-year-old man was taken to the Anamayah Memorial Hospital, where he was admitted with multiple injuries.
