The Truck That Hit The Motorcycle Fled The Scene Of The Accident. As A Result Of The Incident, One Motorcyclist Was Killed And The Other Was Seriously Injured

On Tuesday night (18), a serious accident on the BR-421, near Monte Negro (RO), resulted in the death of a motorcyclist and left another in serious condition.

According to witnesses, the motorcyclists had braked to avoid a hole in the highway, when a truck behind them was unable to avoid the impact, running over both of them and fleeing the scene without providing assistance. The veracity of these reports is still being investigated by the competent authorities.

One of the motorcyclists, a 47-year-old man, was declared dead at the scene and his body was sent to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) in Ariquemes. The other victim, who suffered serious injuries, received initial medical care in Ariquemes and was transferred to a hospital in Porto Velho.

The Federal Highway Police (PRF) and the Civil Police are investigating the case to clarify the circumstances of the accident and identify the truck involved.
