A Drunk Driver Driving A Car Killed An 81-Year-Old Woman

An 81-year-old woman died this Sunday (23) after being thrown against the fence of a building after being run over in the city of Rio Grande, in the south of RS, according to information from the Military Police.

The victim was identified as Aimée Bolaños, a retired teacher from Cuba. Find out more below.

The accident happened on Avenida Rio Grande, in the Cassino neighborhood. The Military Police were called at 12:10 p.m. to respond to the incident. The elderly woman died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, a 34-year-old man, underwent a breathalyzer test, which showed a result of 0.51 mg/l, confirming the presence of alcohol in his system.

The driver was arrested by the Military Police and taken to the Civil Police Station for legal proceedings.
