A serious traffic accident on the Codazzi-Valledupar highway, near the Las Flores farm, has left a motorcyclist dead.
A motorcyclist was killed after being struck by a truck, which sent him crashing into a tractor loaded with African palm fruit.
The accident occurred 3 km past the La Guitarra roundabout in the municipality of Agustín Codazzi, on the road to Valledupar.
The victim was identified as Juan Miguel López Serda, a father of three and an employee of an African palm plantation. He tragically lost his life in the accident and was a former candidate for the municipal council with the Radical Change party.
The National Police and the forensics unit have arrived to conduct the necessary procedures. Drivers are urged to exercise caution on this highly dangerous stretch of road, which has claimed many lives. There is no tow truck available, nor is there any assistance from the tollbooth located just 3 km from the scene. The Agustín Codazzi fire department is the only personnel present at the scene
