A man was shot and killed at a café in Marine Circle, Table View, on Monday afternoon, May 25, in what police believe may have been a targeted attack.
According to Western Cape police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk, Table View police were called to the scene at around 2pm following reports of a shooting.
“Upon arrival at the scene, members found the body of a 33-year-old male with several gunshot wounds lying on his stomach,” said Van Wyk.
He said the victim was declared dead on the scene by medical personnel.
Van Wyk confirmed that the circumstances surrounding the shooting are currently under investigation and that the motive for the attack has not yet been established.
“No arrests have been made at this stage,” he said.
In a separate statement issued by the Marine Circle precinct management, the incident was described as an “isolated shooting incident” which, according to preliminary information, appeared to have been directed at a specific individual.
“No patrons, staff members, or bystanders were injured during the incident,” said the statement
