No gore but happened close to me, victim stabbed once into the heart with machete Detectives investigating the murder of a man in Great Yarmouth can confirm a series of arrests have been made in Norfolk and West Yorkshire.
Two men, aged 21 and 43, were arrested in Leeds last night (Friday 10 February) by colleagues from West Yorkshire Police. The 21-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder while the 43 -year-old was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. Both men were held in custody at Leeds and Wakefield overnight before being brought back to Norfolk and will be questioned at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre.
Meanwhile, today, a 21-year-old man from Loddon was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and has been taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. It comes after a 23-year-old man was attacked in St Peters Road on Wednesday (8 February) around 12.40pm. The man was found collapsed in nearby Wellington Road and died at the scene due to his injuries. A Home Office post-mortem examination established the cause of death to be a single stab wound to the chest. All cordons have now been lifted. The victim’s family continue to be supported by specially trained officers and reassurance patrols will continue over the weekend.
