A man died inside a telecommunication accessories shop in Sunway City, here, after being shot by a gunman with a pistol, this afternoon. The 32-year-old victim, who has a past criminal record related to robbery and theft, was shot by one of the three suspects who entered the store. Subang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat, said the initial investigation found that the suspect consisted of three men who entered the premises and one of them opened fire at the victim.
"Around 1.35 this afternoon, when police officers at the Sunway City Police Station were approached by a man who reported that an Indian man had been shot in the shop. The police rushed to the scene and found the victim lying in a state covered in blood as a result of the gunshots. The victim was rushed to Serdang Hospital and was confirmed dead upon arrival at the hospital," he said in a statement today.
Wan Azlan said the Police Forensic Unit found two bullet casings, one live bullet and two blood swabs and a pair of slippers at the scene. For now, he said, the case is classified according to Section 302 of the Penal Code for the offense of murder. The police ask the public who have more information regarding the incident to come forward and cooperate by calling 03-78627100 (Subang Jaya District Control Center) or the Investigating Officer, Assistant Superintendent Ahmad Faizal Shaikh Ab Rahim at 019-7506606 to assist with the investigation
