The alleged attacker, Luiz Victor Ortega Xavier, 29, is still at large, and the authorities have issued a temporary arrest warrant against him.

 

The attack occurred during the middle of work hours, around 9:00 a.m., when Luiz Victor entered the salon, hiding a knife under his shirt. After crossing Flora Avenue, he entered the establishment full of people and unleashed a brutal attack on his former co-worker. Luana received 15 stab wounds, most of them in the neck and arm, which caused rapid bleeding.

 

The attack also left a collateral victim: a customer who was near the exit was injured before the attacker fled the scene. Witnesses said that Luana, while bleeding, managed to ask for help, but unfortunately collapsed before receiving it.

 

Security cameras recorded the entire incident, showing Luiz Victor leaving the place, alone, and getting into a black Corsa parked on a nearby street. The police continue his search while the investigation to find his whereabouts intensifies.

 

According to Luana's close friends, the attacker did not accept the end of the relationship or that she started a new romantic relationship. Luana leaves behind her 12-year-old daughter, who is not the attacker's daughter.

 

This tragic event occurs in a context of increasing gender violence in the state of São Paulo, where in the first four months of 2024 a 40% increase in similar attacks was reported. Organizations and experts have highlighted the urgency of strengthening public policies to prevent and address domestic violence.
