Ezequiel de León Fajardo, known as "Manuel", was shot dead by unknown assailants while working as a security guard at the Colinas del Seminario Residential Complex, in the Los Ríos sector, National District.
Manuel, 50, was originally from Yamasá and had been working in security at the complex for several years. His death has caused deep consternation in the community, where he was appreciated for his commitment and kindness.
Community in shock and concerned about security
Neighbors lamented the tragedy and remembered his dedication. Sumaya Caballo, a resident of the sector and friend of the victim, said: "I have to be totally dismayed because he has collaborated here with security for many years. This has left us totally shocked."
They also expressed their concern about the lack of security in the area and asked for greater support from the authorities. Caballo called for increased surveillance in the residential areas: "These situations happen, and we should have a little more support from the police, and for those in charge of security in the residential areas to work more closely with them."
They demand justice
Family members, friends and neighbors demand that the case not go unpunished, while the funeral services are held in his hometown.
