The owners of a nightclub located on Avenida 68, in the Engativá district, had been facing a situation for months that—according to their reports—threatened the peace and security of their business. Demands for money reportedly began in December 2025, and according to one of the complainants, the case was already known to the Police Anti-Kidnapping and Extortion Unit (Gaula).
The warnings persisted for nearly ten months. However, events on the night of Thursday, October 8, escalated the situation and raised questions regarding the threats the owners claimed to have been receiving.
According to a report released by journalist Manuel Salazar, two individuals on a motorcycle arrived at the establishment and handed a pamphlet to the security guard. The worker was subsequently killed.
This information was presented by Héctor Gil Bastidas, who stated that those responsible for the alleged extortion identified themselves as members of the criminal gang known as "Satanás."
Authorities must now determine the circumstances of the homicide and any potential link to the threats. For the time being, the owners' testimony points to a connection between the reported financial demands and the attack.
According to Gil Bastidas, the owners had been reporting the demands for money since December of last year. The complainant stated that the Police Gaula had been aware of the situation for months.
This allegation raises questions regarding the complaints filed, the follow-up they received, and any measures taken to protect the individuals associated with the establishment.
