Two bodies, identified as those of César Arruda and Zuleide Damasceno, were found in a pickup truck on Friday night (9), in Sítio Novo, rural area of São Luís (MA).
Information from the Military Police of Maranhão (PM-MA) indicates that César's wife had reported his disappearance on Wednesday (7) after he left to do some work and did not return.
Two days after the disappearance, a vehicle with the same characteristics as the victim's pickup truck was located about 4 km from the village of Santa Maria, in a difficult-to-access area.
The victims were found in the back seat of the pickup truck with gunshot wounds. The Civil Police confirmed that they were killed inside the vehicle itself.
Witnesses reported that the pickup truck had been parked for a long time. However, they only noticed the bodies hours later.
The case is being investigated by the Civil Police. So far, the circumstances or perpetrators of the crime have not been identified, nor has the motivation for the murders.
