A tragic incident unfolded on the campus of a college in Thane when a 42-year-old library peon, Praveen Chaudhary, took his own life by jumping from the fourth floor of the building. This incident was captured on CCTV footage, which shows him falling to the ground, followed by immediate assistance from bystanders.
Chaudhary, who had been employed at the college in the Dattanagar area for several years, was reportedly known for his hot-tempered nature. According to local authorities, he had received multiple counseling sessions from college administration due to issues related to his behavior. On the day of the incident, Chaudhary had arrived at the college around 3:30 PM, accompanied by family members, to discuss his conduct and anger management issues with the principal.
During the meeting, Chaudhary reportedly became agitated, which led to an escalation of his emotions. Witnesses stated that in a moment of unforeseen rage, he abruptly ran to the fourth floor and jumped from the balcony. The suddenness of the act created a sense of panic among the people present on the campus, causing chaos in the aftermath.
Immediately following this tragic event, bystanders attempted to provide first aid. Chaudhary was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital; however, medical personnel pronounced him dead upon arrival. The Ramnagar Police received notification of the incident and promptly arrived at the scene to conduct a thorough investigation. They carried out a panchnama, which is a legal procedure for recording observations and evidence at a crime scene, and have initiated an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
