Three people were injured, one of them seriously, after a violent traffic accident that occurred last night on the road that connects San Antero with Coveñas, in the department of Córdoba.

The accident took place around 7:30 p.m. near the Miriam Pardo neighborhood, in the sector known as El Empedrado.

According to witnesses, two motorcycles collided head-on when one of them, driven by a man identified as “Pacho,” originally from San Antero, tried to enter the main road.

At that moment, the collision occurred with another motorcycle that was apparently heading from Coveñas, carrying the driver and a passenger on board.
As a result of the impact, the three people involved suffered injuries of varying severity.

The injured were initially transferred to the San Antero Urgent Medical Care Center (CAMU) to receive first aid.

However, due to the severity of the injuries of one of the injured, who suffered a traumatic amputation of a leg, the three victims were sent to the municipality of Lorica, where they will be able to receive specialized care.

The traffic authorities were present at the scene of the accident to carry out the corresponding survey and begin the investigations that will allow the exact causes of the accident to be clarified.

The long weekend was quite eventful on the roads of Córdoba, but with the lack of consolidated figures, at least seven deaths and several injuries have been recorded in different road accidents.
