Two Workers Were Electrocuted When An Iron Stand They Were Shifting Came Into Contact With An 11 KV Power Line

The deceased were identified as Chandanagiri Nagaraju, 34, of Velganur village and Challa Laxminarayana, 33, of Madapur village in Dandepalli mandal. Two others who attempted to rescue them sustained minor injuries.

According to police, the workers were moving a large iron stand from a petrol pump to the owner’s house when it accidentally touched the overhead electric line, resulting in the electrocution. Family members of the deceased staged a protest at the petrol pump demanding ₹50 lakh compensation from the owner. Police registered a case and began an investigation. In a separate incident, two youths died after their motorcycle hit a road divider at Edigama in Nirmal town around midnight on Sunday. The victims were identified as Srujan, 33, of Manjulapur village and Praful, 34, of Natarajanagar. Police said the accident occurred when they were travelling towards Nirmal from Manjulapur and their motorcycle crashed into the divider. Both died on the spot
