The incident occurred on the evening of July 28th in a real estate office in the Siteler neighborhood of Çiftlikköy district in Yalova. A dispute, the cause of which is still unknown, broke out between Gül Nihal Akçal and real estate agent Enes Vasfi Yerlikaya. The argument quickly escalated, and Akçal pulled out a gun she had brought with her and shot Yerlikaya. Yerlikaya collapsed to the ground bleeding, while Akçal then turned the same gun on herself and ended her own life. Following reports from nearby residents who heard the gunshots, police and medical teams were quickly dispatched to the scene.
