A serious accident was recorded in the early hours of this Saturday (May 2) on the BR-230 Transamazon Highway, near km 23, between the municipalities of Altamira and Brasil Novo in southwestern Pará.
According to preliminary information, two men on a motorcycle were allegedly run over. The impact left their bodies mutilated. People passing by the location shortly after the incident recorded images of the scene.
There are no details yet regarding the circumstances of the accident, but it is suspected that the victims had stopped on the side of the highway when they were struck by a vehicle whose driver did not remain at the scene. The motorcycle the men were on showed no signs of a collision.
Teams from the Federal Highway Police (PRF) and the Scientific Police attended the scene to carry out legal procedures. The bodies were taken to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) in Altamira.
